EZ-DOS-IT was a very low-cost low-resource multitasking program for DOS on the IBM PC and compatibles. It claimed compatibility with most popular software of the time. However, the initial 1.0 release had serious bugs, was copy protected, and was not compatible enough for many people. Although these issues were quickly fixed and copy protection removed, it earned them bad reviews.

EZ-DRAFT also has features unavailable on other PC based drafting systems like dynamic dimensioning, orthogonal and isometric projections, full compliance to ANSI Standard Y14.5 including geometric tolerances and surface finish an extensive selection of trimming excess constructions off the drawing and a full IGES interface so that drawings created on a mainframe CAD system can be down-loaded into EZ-DRAFT. The user friendly Macintosh interface complete with pull-down menus, mouse and interactive graphics helps the drafter quickly become adept at making high quality drawings - even without prior computer experience.

EZ-Drive is a hard disk partitioning tool bundled with new hard drives. It detects, partitions, formats drives, and installs BIOS overlays, all in one easy to use program. Such setup programs were often necessary due to the complexity of BIOS size limitation and the skyrocketing size of new hard drives. EZ-Drive is similar to Ontrack Disk Manager.

Notably, it can do all of this with minimal DOS memory overhead, only 14k of RAM.

Family Origins Deluxe is a genealogy tracking program that lets you keep track of family history and plot family trees.

Fantavision was an animation program from Broderbund originally for the Apple II but later ported to the Amiga, IIGS, and DOS. It features animation "tweening" to create smooth movements, support for digital sound to accompany animation, object-oriented animation control, and comes with an animation library. Prior to the DOS version release, similar tools were mostly found only on the Apple Macintosh. Fantavision was marketed toward both home users and business professionals. The IBM PC version supports CGA, EGA, Tandy, and Hercules video.

Matisse (and Fauve Software) died when the two brothers who owned it bet the farm on a high-end image-manipulation program called X-res - and lost. Ironically, X-res (and Matisse)was acquired by Macromedia.,While X-res continued to be published by Macromedia, Matisse was allowed to slip into a quiet grave." Intel FAXability is a program for sending and receiving FAXes under Windows with compatible fax modems. It offers cover sheets, an address book, sheduling, and OCR. It came in two variates, FAXability and FAXability/OCR.

FaxDirect is a flexible resident command line tool for sending and receiving FAXes under DOS. It was bundled with copies of WordPefect.

FAXFree is a program that automates creating and managing Windows 9x/NT FAX image files and routing them to other people via e-mail, instead of real fax machines and overpriced long distance telephone calls.

FAXit. from Alien Computing, is a program for sending and receiving faxes under Microsoft Windows. The program simulates a Windows printer, enabling any print job to be sent as a FAX.

FaxWorks Pro, from Softnet of Marietta GA, is an efficent and user friendly fax program. It includes OCR with support for Twain scanners, and can exchange data with various Personal Infromation Managers. Many OEMs bundled FaxWorks with their modems. It competed against Delrina Winfax and BitWare.

Fidelity On line Xpress is an application that enables Fidelity customers to make trades and update their portfolios online.

FileCommand is an alternate DOS shell from IBM. The user interface is based on the IBM 3081/3084 mainframe VM/CMS Fulist/Filelist tool. It provides an on-screen file list, and a command area, but uses its own command set. Although advertised as friendlier DOS shell for general PC users, most users would likely find it confusing unless they had prior experience with Fulist.

FileMaker is a very easy to use graphical flat-file database management tool from Claris that allows for visual form and report creation. Originally for DOS, there were Macintosh versions and later it was ported to Windows.

FilePlan is a personal filing system database that resembles a spreadsheet. You enter fields that make up records, and you can define different data type for each field. Supports incremental fields and sorting. Supports both a form and worksheet mode for working with data. There were version of this software for CP/M and DOS.

FilePro, from The Small Computer Company, is a friendly menu-oriented database originally written for the TRS-80 in 1978 and ported to many other platforms including DOS, Xenix, and OS/2. The original version of the software was developed by software engineer Howard Wolowitz - the character by that name in the TV sitcom "The Big Bang Theory" was named after him, as he was a friend of one of the show creators.
