Lotus Jazz (1985) 0 Word Processor Spreadsheet Presentations Communications Database MacOS

Lotus Jazz was a heavily marketed all-in-one integrated office suite that included a word processor, spreadsheet, graphing, database, and communications program. Jazz was targeted as a universal solution for all office workers. Although at release, the program was exclusively for the Apple Macintosh 512k. Despite the marketing effort, it flopped miserably. Although it was from Lotus, the spreadsheet was not related to Lotus 1-2-3. Microsoft Works.

Lotus Mail (1998) 0 Communications Windows

Lotus Mail was an interim product targeted at users of the older Lotus cc:Mail product, with the intent being that they would eventually switch to Lotus Notes/Domino. Lotus Mail features a user interface similar to cc:Mail, LDAP support, and powerful filtering options. Lotus Mail lacked support for HTML formatted e-mail (good!).

Lotus Manuscript (1989) 0 Word Processor DOS

First released in 1986, Lotus Manuscript is a sophisticated word processor geared toward scientific technical writing. It features easy table editing, the ability to easily edit and print mathematical equations, and can handle very complicated documents. It also includes footnoting, document tracking, import from 1-2-3, and mailmerge. Version 2 adds macro and downloadable font support.

Lotus Notes is a powerful e-mail and collaboration tool. It was heavily used by large corporations. It was sometimes criticized for its complexity and bloat. Lotus Symphony is a an integrated software program that combines five tools: spreadsheet - word processing, graphics, database management, and data communications - in one package. The spreadsheet has similar functionality to Lotus 1-2-3, however it uses a different software "engine". These releases are of the original suite produced by Lotus. NetManage Chameleon (1993) 7 Communications Windows

NetManage Chameleon is a small and efficient TCP/IP networking stack and utility suite for Microsoft Windows. It includes an FTP client, Telnet client, E-mail client, and an NFS system for interoperation with Unix networks. Other GUI utilities include Bind, Finger, Ping, TFTP, FTP Server a TN3270 terminal emulator, Whois, and SNMP. Earlier versions ran on Windows 3.0 and 3.1.

New Deal Office (1999) 3 Word Processor Spreadsheet Presentations DOS

Based on GeoWorks, New Deal Office was a graphical operating environment for DOS which later became Breadbox Ensemble. New Deal adds a Windows-95 like user interface with a task bar and start menu. New Deal Office targeted low-end 386 and 486 computers that were not up to the task of running Windows 95. It was also released in a "WebSuite" edition only includes the internet connectivity and web browsing tools.

Nutshell (1986) 0 Database DOS

First released in 1984, Nutshell was one of the first easy-to-use general purpose databases. It was created by Nashoba Systems and initially distributed by Leading Edge. layout design. Oracle Office 2.0 is a groupware solution from Oracle, similar to Lotus Notes or WordPerfect Office (Groupware), but uses Oracle's database as a backend and includes database functionality in addition to document processing.
