Crosstalk (1983) 1 Communications DOS

Originally released in 1982, Crosstalk XVI, from Digital Communications Associates Inc of Alpharetta, Georgia, is a powerful telecommunications program for the IBM PC with many scripting features. "XVI" means "16", and refers to the powerful new 16-bit x86 CPUs found in IBM PC's and compatibles. It was followed up by the MK 4 and Communicatior products.

Dan Bricklin's "Demo" is a tool for creating tutorials, interactive application demonstrations, and interface prototypes. It has a powerful scripting system, with the ability to store and manipulate both text and graphics screens, and a redistributable runtime. author of VisiCalc. Demo was first released in 1985 by Dan Bricklin's consulting firm Software Garden. It was later sold under Peter Norton Computing, and then Sage Software.

It was first introduced in 1984 as a low-overhead office package targeted at the IBM PCjr, and was offered as a lower cost alternative to Ashton-Tate Framework and Lotus Symphony. Electric desk features windowing, macros, and context sensitive menus. The user interface is a little eccentric. IBM 3270 Control Program is the mainframe communication environment used by the IBM 3270 Personal Computer. The IBM 3270 Personal Computer was an IBM PC equipped with special hardware for communicating with IBM mainframes, however this special hardware greatly limited its IBM PC compatibility. The control program supported multiple mainframe sessions and could run an instance of IBM PC-DOS from within the control program. It also provides sessions a limited windowing environment.
