AutoCAD, from Autodesk and first released in 1982, is a powerful Computer Aided Design tool. It was, and still is, often considered the standard for CAD tools. Primarily for the IBM PC platform, it was ported to x86 machines with higher video resolutions such as the Zenith Z-100 and NEC APC. Intermittently, versions for the Macintosh appeared. Decision Pad, from Apian Software, is a decision support tool that uses a decision matrix approach. It also supports a three-dimensional decision matrix for group decisions, and can import/export data from Lotus 1-2-3 files. It competed against a similar tool called "Prism".

Drafix was first was fist released in 1986 for DOS, and was the first professional CAD program released for Microsoft Windows.

Expert File and Calc is a combination database and spreadsheet targeted at budget home users. It supports importing dBase III databases and Lotus spreadsheets, includes the ability to make reports, and supports Lotus spreadsheet functions. It is a fairly primitive program, and the user interface(s) are very inconsistent.

FrontRunner (1988) 0 DOS

FontRunner, from Apex Software, is a dBase application compiler that specialized in making small, fast, terminate-and-stay-resident database applications. This makes it possible for DOS application users to call up data entry screens without the need to exit the program they are running. It supports redefinable keyboard macros, and can copy data from a DOS application screen into its database. To reduce memory usage it omits dBase's reporting and label generating capabilities. Version 1.2 and later support EMS memory usage.

IBM Current 1.00 is a very useful Personal Information Manager designed for Microsoft Window 2.x. It is highly customizable, and acts as a database where you can create categories with custom fields, custom entry form layouts, and even "connect" related fields between categories.
