Virtual PC 3.x (Mac)

Originally an x86 emulator for Macintosh used to run Windows, Connectix, the company that made it, was purchased by Microsoft. Virtual PC was then retooled into a virtualization tool for x86 systems.



Release notes

Adds support for Mac OS 9. Emulates USB with a Windows 98 guest, SoundBlaster 16.

There is now a setup wizard and a configuration manager for easier configuration of the virtual PCs.

Versions were offered for sale bundled with PC-DOS 2000, Windows 95, and Windows 98 guests. Additionally, Windows NT, DOS with Windows 3.11, and OS / 2 are officially supported.

The last update was 3.0.3A on April 26, 2000.

Installation instructions

This is the last version for Apple Macintosh computers with PowerPC 600 processors.
