Microsoft Project is a project management chart and gantt chart generator. It is a Microsoft Office family member, and built on the Office code, although it has never shipped with any Office suite.

Version 2 adds Program Evaluation Review Technique charts and Gantt Charts in addition to Critical Path Method, that emphasizes the order of tasks. It uses Gantt tasks summary for project creation where others use a PERT chart view. Exports to DIF, dBase II and III, Multiplan, Microsoft Chart, and Lotus 1-2-3.
