Failsafe Computer Guardian is a DOS TSR utility that prevents programs or other users from accessing or making changes to designated files on the hard drive. It includes password control, user groups, logging, keyboard locking, screen blanking, and support for Microsoft windows. Notably, it can do all of this with minimal DOS memory overhead, only 14k of RAM.

FontRunner, from Apex Software, is a dBase application compiler that specialized in making small, fast, terminate-and-stay-resident database applications. This makes it possible for DOS application users to call up data entry screens without the need to exit the program they are running. It supports redefinable keyboard macros, and can copy data from a DOS application screen into its database. To reduce memory usage it omits dBase's reporting and label generating capabilities. HP-UX (1992) 8 Unix

HP-UX is a Unix variant based off of System III, later System V Unix. Released in 1984, the initial version of HP-UX supported the Motorola 68k processor family, specifically the HP 9807A, the "HP Integral PC". This OS is still updated, with its latest being version 11i. Platforms that HP-UX have ran on were the Motorola 68k, RISC, HP FOCUS, and the Itanium family of Intel processors. HP-UX was the first UNIX to provide access control lists (acls), logical volumes, features that are currently supported by newer mainstream Operating Systems. HP-UX versions before 11.0 are not deemed as being Y2k-compliant by HP.
