The Apple Lisa Workshop is a set of development tools and a command-line oriented operating environment that was used to develop all software for the Apple Lisa computer. It had variants for multiple languages including Pascal, Cobol, and Basic. Although it was mostly text-based, it did use a GUI code editor. The Workshop ran separately from the Lisa Office System, and developers would switch back and forth while developing their programs.

AppleWorks is an all-in-one Word Processor, Spreadsheet, Database, Graphics Editor, and Presentations tool. The original product was a text-based product for the Apple II. The Apple Macintosh and Windows versions were forked from ClarisWorks in 1998 by Apple. At the time, Apple was under a lot of pressure to have a direct alternative to Microsoft Office. There were serious concerns that Microsoft might pull Microsoft Office for the Macintosh from development.

FontWorks is a utility that prints documents using high quality fonts on a dot-matrix printer. It was commonly sold as a companion product to AppleWorks on the Apple II. It can print sideways, it includes a number of high quality fonts, and includes a font editor.

This is a collection of software box, manual, and floppy disk art collected over a number of years. Many of these are titles that WinWorld does not currently have, and therefore can be useful determining what should be included with a software title, or providing additional information about titles that lack artwork. Most of these are collected from sites like eBay, many of these correspond with the "Seen on eBay" thread, although the collection is not all-inclusive. This does not contain scanned artwork from titles already on WinWorld.

During the late 1980's, WordPerfect was THE standard word processor for DOS based PCs in big business. Under DOS, it competed mostly against Wordstar. WordPerfect for Windows enjoyed some success in the early Windows environments, but was quickly displaced by Microsoft Word for Windows. Later Windows versions were part of Borland Office/Novell PerfectOffice/Corel Office/Corel WordPerfect Office.

WordStar (1981) 46 Word Processor CPM DOS

WordStar, originally from MicroPro, was a popular word processor during the early 80s. It was ported to a number of CP/M architectures as well as Unix and PC/MS-DOS. It competed directly against many word processors, including WordPerfect, Microsoft Word for DOS, and Multimate. By the late 80s most business word processing had moved to WordPerfect. In the early 90s, Microsoft Word for Windows took over.
