DeScribe 4.0
DeScribe was one of the first natively designed word processors available for OS/2. Although it was a word processor, it had many features of a desktop publishing tool.
It was implemented as an OS/2 application, and took advantage of OS/2 native features. It supported OS/2 long file names, WYSIWYG word processing, text frames, a drawing package, and REXX integration. It was reported as very responsive and stable compared to other OS/2 applications, which made it a popular choice on OS/2.
It was first released in 1989 as a 16-bit OS/2 1.x application, but gained native 32-support for OS/2 2.0. Later, it was made available for Windows 3.1, 95, and NT.
Wanted: earlier versions.
Release notes
Note: This version is reported to have an odd issue running under 86box/PCem when a SCSI controller is present. An IDE-only system should work.
