Microsoft Bookshelf is a CD-ROM based multimedia reference tool from Microsoft, including a dictionary, thesaurus, quotations, atlas, and other types of references. Some versions were included and integrated with Microsoft Office, albeit sometimes stripped down.

Important: This is a very early CD-ROM disk, and as such is not in a standard format and will not open in many ISO utilities. Burn it to a CD and DOS or Windows 9x should recognize it.
Includes World Almanac and Book of Facts, the Chicago Manual of Style, Bartlett's Familiar Quotation, and U.S. Zip Code Directory.
This version is intended to be used from within a word processor.
Microsoft Bookshelf is fully compatible with the following word processors: Microsoft Word, versions 2.0, 3.0, 3.1, 3.11, 4.0 Word Perfect, version 4.2 Multimate Advantage, version I IBM Display Write III Volkswriter 3 XyWrite III and III Plus PC Write, version 2.71
