Diskette Filing System is a small, inexpensive "budget-oriented" program that keeps track of the contents of your floppy disks.
"One of the byproducts of working with computers is the accumulation of a vast library of diskettes and programs. DISKETTE FILING SYSTEM gives you an easy way to store information about your disks and programs, making it easy to find what you need when you need it."
To make use of this software, you are supposed to add your DOS system files and BASCIA to the program disks. There is a separate version for the IBM PC and IBM PCjr. To run on an IBM PC clone, you must provide a compatible vendor provided "basica", such as the one included in Compaq's MS-DOS 2.11.
Interestingly, this software shipped on two IBM PC compatible 160K "flippy" disks. This suggests it would be compatible with DOS 1.0.
