Multilink is a multitasking program that turns an IBM PC XT or PC AT into a multi-user, multitasking system supporting up to eight dumb terminals. It enabled DOS applications, files, and printers to be shared among users.
Using this on a commodity PC was considered an inexpensive alternative to larger dedicated multi-user hardware and multitasking operating systems such as XENIX.
It instantly turned many existing DOS application such WordStar, dBASE III, MultiMate, and Lotus 1-2-3 in to multi-user applications. However, it faced the growing problem that many DOS programs did not multi-task well, especially as this pre-dated 386 DOS virtualization.
Important: This software only runs on very specific, supported versions of DOS.
4.00 supports IBM PC DOS versions 3.20, 3.10, 3.00, 2.10, and 2.00, and a few certain versions of MS-DOS.
