Bootloop :(

edited August 2017 in Software
Hi, today I've been trying to install Longhorn (4074) but it always fails on my laptop...
I am using a Dell Latitude D620 with the Intel VCARD (idk if that matters in any way).
I seen people that could install longhorn on it.
Whenever I put the DVD with longhorn (I did tested it in VPC 2007 and it does work) the laptop gets stuck at "Microsoft Codename Longhorn" and the loading bar, like it's booting, but it never does. I tried to install X64 Longhorn and the setup runs fine, but after, it would boot only in Safe Mode, even after installing drivers (using safe mode)
Ram is fine, the HDD same, I could install Longhorn 3718 and WinXP succesfully.
Could someone help me?

  • Make sure your disk controller is compatible with that build (e.g. if you're using SATA, make sure it's in legacy mode and not AHCI, or use IDE), and that you set the system clock back.
  • Thanks for your answer, I am going to check the bios settings!
  • Have you set the system time back to whatever it needs to be in the BIOS? Perhaps that could be causing some sort of issue.
  • Yes, I dont have any settings about "AHCI" etc in my bios.
and even after changing the date it dont work
