Our Vintage Desktops?
I thought it might be cool, if we showed off the desktops of the vintage/old machines we use most often.
For me it's going to be my Compaq Deskpro EN. I am also going to throw in a picture of my set-up as well as a vintage Marilyn Manson t-shirt from 1994. Why? Because I am trying to create a "90's computer desk", where all the equiptment is form the 90's and everything else at least looks like it could be from that time period.

Thanks. Wanted one since I became a fan of Danooct1, went to my Grandma's one day and found it sitting in the corner gathering dust. Replaced the CMOS battery and she let me have it.

He tests virii from the DOS and Win9x eras. Sometimes he uses a vintage Packard Bell, several years older than mine however.

Also, how in any way is Marilyn fucking Manson relevant to a thread on vintage computers? I know you're like "capturing" an era, but if you want to capture late 90s culture then at least choose some good band that's considered nerdy like Rush or Weezer, not Marilyn Manson who just makes me shudder. Marilyn Manson is more "edgy teenager" music like Linkin Park or whatever.
I have 2 spice girls CDs, 2 Alanis Morsiette CDs, and 1 Sheryl Crow CD. I like all these artists who were big in the 90's.
However, Marilyn Manson is my favourite, not just because I like the sound of the music, but because of the message, the content, and the artist himself. I have a lot of respect for someone who promotes free-thinking, individuality, and self-belief, and who also isn't afraid to criticise religion on an ideological level. Mad props to 'Manson for that. He's actually an intelligent man.
I intended this to show the screens of our most used vintage desktops. Like my second picture, but it turned into something else.

OP has started another thread about a Packard Bell from circa 1989. I'd be interested in seeing that one fully set up. It might be a good way to get the thread back on track.
I did buy it,but haven't paid yet, I have until 10:22PM EST Sunday (tomorrow) to pay.
I got a $300 pre-paid credit card, however, ebay doesn't seem to want to accept it, so I am going to call the support line soon.
I also asked the seller if we could wait the next 5 business days until I get the $300 from my bank account onto my paypal.
(Just a side note, we're on Daylight time right now, not Standard. :P )
I'm gonna try the licensed version of 3.1 on the 5.25 disks I have (microsoft licensed it to another company, so it was sold and is documented by another company, but is "Microsoft Windows 3.1"). I'll see how it works. If possible I will try to stick a few MB more ram in.
If ti doesn't work well, then it'll be time for Windows 286. Which seems appropriate for a 286.... lol.
EDIT: After talking to the support staff, It seems that because of the hidden fees paypal has, I am like $10 short of money, so I just need to load a little more on.
