Fractal Design Dabbler 1.0

edited March 2017 in Software
Fractal Design Painter had a little sis and it was called Dabbler.

Used the brush on canvas metaphor to let novices (like me) make something Matiise-like. Although it seemed over-simplified, in reality, 99.99% of the nerds out there are never going to use Painters full potential, so for $99 bucks you got a cool tool.

This was in 1993-1994 and so of course, designed for and ran on Microsoft Windows 3.1.

Biggest thing in my opinion? That it could use most of the Adobe defined .8bf filter plugins. Which was awesiome, considering most of us did know what a plugin was in 1993-94.

"Daniel Says" did a whole picture essay on it, I'll post the link to his page and shamelessly post one of his images here.
