Whistler 2296 VirtualBox driver issues

VirtualBox guest additions does not work on Whistler build 2296. It just plainly refuses to load the installer (GA works just fine on Neptune, strangely enough). Is there some other way to install a video driver on this or am I completely stuck with 16 colors and 800x600 resolution?

I use BearWindows VBEMP and manually set the screen resolution.
