I finally found a CD-ROM drive for this computer, the light goes on when i turn on the PC and even i can open it to put CDs, it starts spining but then it just stops. There is a driver or something for MS-DOS to get it working? thank you.
You will need to be much more specific. What kind of computer and CD-ROM drive is this?
Some early CD-ROM drives are not compatible with the more common OAK drivers found on most boot disks. I was actually just working on a generic 8x CD drive like that. But with the right DOS driver, or once Windows 9x is loaded, it worked fine.
On my old boot disks, I had the best luck with a combination of cpqidecd.sys (mitumi), d011v109.sys (oak), ibmidecd.sys, and nec_ide.sys. Usually one of those would pick up an oddball IDE cd drive.

i tried the oak driver and it does not work. i tried looking for drivers but you could only find drivers for windows and OS/2

PD: Yes, the BIOS recognizes the drive
I would expect one of the Teac MS-DOS drivers should work.
