Help with windows longhorn

Help! Every time I try to install windows longhorn into Virtual PC 2007, I get to the installing page and it says, "An error has been encountered that prevents Setup from continuing." In the log file, it says "Error:Setup has encountered an error(system file time out of sync., error code is 800b0101)" Please help! :-(
EDIT:I am using Microsoft Windows Vista Longhorn 206.0.3683.0 beta

  • I think you might have to change the system clock in the virtual machine for it to work, since windows betas have a time expiration.

I tried but i do not know when to change it to.
  • Try setting the date on the machine to the 23rd of October 2002, since that was when that build was released.

I believe this beta is broken. I set the time and date it did not work.
  • Doesn't the VM use the clock and date from the host?

Yes, it typically does. I know with Virtualbox and VMware Player, you could boot into the emulated machine's BIOS setup and change the time and date from there, I can't remember if VPC 07 could or not.
