The processor fan is sounding like it's going to die Real Soon Now(tm) so the box is off unless somebody requests a file from it.

99% of the time it's the bearings. I hate fans. If you want a quick fix, open the fan up, clean it, and spray some WD40 into the bearing mechanism.

Yeah, it sounds like the bearings are going. The fan is 7 years old, it's bound to happen.

EDIT: It's a 40mm case fan. The thing is fricking imposible to open. I'll try cleaning the fan blades and heatsink and see if it has any effect.

40 mm fans *suck*. Just like the admin of LinuxISO.org. Tell him to quit being a n00b and patch his forum up.

Apparently my work IP has been banned from the forum b/c of my latest post.

Banning me won't help.

They will have to ban 1.1.1.1-255.255.255.255 if they don't want to hacked without patching their forum.

Well, they cut out people with a motive to crack them.

BTW my last post was about cleaning the fan.

Yeah I know. The long-term solution is always to buy anyway.

Motive isn't required, btw. Just boredom. :P

Boredom could be considered a motive. You've got nothing to do, why not exploit phpBB?

Motive: "An emotion, desire, physiological need, or similar impulse that acts as an incitement to action."

I didn't have any emotion, desire, physiological need, or similar impulse that acted as an incitement to my actions. :P

What about, a desire to do something (i.e. relieve boredom) ?
