Maybe. That'd probably make it faster to catch on. I was going to mainly focus on general topics, so manga and anime would go in the /tv/ and /co/ boards. But I have to get an image reply script coded first! Futallaby is the only 4chan-like software I see in PHP, and I kinda refuse to use Perl because while I still barely know anything of PHP, Perl is like Greek to me.

Would be a nice learning experience for Perl, I'd think.

I have no interest in perl though, lol. To be fair, I can't really code in PHP either, but at least I know some basic things about it. My friend will probably code in the image upload script soon, I've got a few /b/tard friends posting on it atm.

Go learn C++. Great intro. Perl is similar and PHP right behind it.

Point was, most colleges now offer in-class C++ classes. It was a great foundation for me and at the same time got some credit hours behind me.

C++ is a really difficult language for beginners to learn... if you find PHP or Perl difficult, C++ will be too intimidating for you.

They taught C++ in the intro to programming course at my university. I did really well since I was already comfortable with PHP and the syntax is somewhat similar (not exactly, obviously, but close enough that the basics were already covered).

If you're going to learn a language, for this project, give Python a shot.
